The solution of the system of equations is (0, -2)

How to solve the system of equations?

Here we have the system of linear equations:

y = -4x - 2

y = (1/2)x - 2

To solve it with a graph, we just need to graph both lines in the same coordinate axis, and then find the point where the graphs intercept.

The intercepts between the graphs are the solutions of the system of equations.

In the image at the end you can see the graph of the system, there we can see that the intercept is at (0, -2), so that is the solution.
