Explanation:

In order to do elimination you must make x or y positive and negative so they cancel out.


-2(9x+2y=39)\\-3(6x+13y=-9)


-18x-4y=-78\\18x+39y=-27


35y=-105\\y=(-105)/(35)\\ y=-3

Then plug the Y back in to one equation or the other


9x+(2*-3)=39\\9x-6=39\\9x=45\\x=5
