An ant and a beetle are sitting at the south east corner of a rectangular picture frame. After a piece of sugar is placed on the north west corner they simultaneously start moving towards the sugar. The ant is moving around the frame 1.5 times faster than the beetle who is crossing the picture on a diagonal. If the length of the frame is 8 inches and the width is 1 inch more than half of diagonal, who will get to the sugar first?Ants path is ___ inches and Beetles path is ___ inches. ______ will get there first.

The ant's path is 16 inches and the beetle's path is 10 inches. The ant will get to the sugar first.

Calculation of the inches:

The path of the beetle should be 10 inches

And, the path of the ant should be

= length of the frame + (half of 10 + 1)

= 10 + (0.5 of 10 + 1)

= 10 + 5 + 1

= 16

So based on this, we can conclude that Here ant should get sugar first.
