The HyperTransport feature by AMD is a type of high-speed interconnect technology that enhances communication between processor cores and other computer components, but it is most closely associated with multithreading.
The general name of the processor feature that AMD calls HyperTransport is multithreading. HyperTransport is a high-speed, low latency interconnect technology which allows the processor cores to communicate faster with each other and with other parts of the computer. This is different from multicore processing, virtualization support, and integrated graphics. While HyperTransport facilitates efficient communication and may enhance multithreading, it is not the same as these other features. It is primarily aimed at reducing the number of buses within the computer, which can lower the system's latency and increase its performance.
