A box contains orange balls and green balls the number of green balls is 10 more than five times a number of orange balls if they’re 154 balls altogether then how many green balls and how many orange balls are there in the box

There are 24 orange balls and 130 green balls in the box.

Explanation:

Let orange balls be x and green balls be y.

y = 10+5x

x+y = 154

y = 154-x

Now,

y=10+5x

or, 154-x = 10+5x

or, 154-10 = 5x+x

or, 144 = 6x

so, x = 24

Now,

y = 154-x

or, y = 154-24

so, y = 130
