1.30(2) + X = 6.10
This would be one of a few equations to do. 1.30(2) represents the cartons of eggs which are each 1.30. the X will represent the price of pancake mix and the total is 6.10.

6.10-2(1.30) can be used the correctly find the cost, x, of the box of pancake mix.
