We can split the triangle in half and use the pythagorean theorem to find half of x


3^2+b^2=√(45) ^2\\9+b^2=45

Subtract 9 from both sides


b^2=36

Square root both sides


b=6

This is half of x so to find the full thing we just multiply by 2


6*2=12


x=12
