Explain the two ways we can find the slope from an equation written in STANDARD FORM. Which way is more convenient and WHY?

Answer: Derivative or y = mx + b

Explanation:

Take the m value from the standard form equation:

y = mx + b

Or, the second way, is to take the derivative of the function and plug in your x value for your slope.

The derivative of a linear function is very easy to take, so it boils to preference
