We know the slope formula is:


m = (y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

Because we already know the slope and three other points, we can let point f represent y2 and solve for it:


(1)/(8)=(f-(-6))/(-8-8)\\ (1)/(8)=(f+6)/(-16)\\ -2=f+6\\ -8=f
