Can you please help me solve this equation using substitution? I’ve been trying to solve it for so long and can’t do it.

2x-y=5 and 3x+y=-9

Answer:

x=-4/5 y= -33/5

Explanation:

y=-3x-9

2x+3x+9=5

5x=-4

x=-4/5

Then plug it in into an equation.....2(-4/5)-y=5

-8/5-y=25/5

-y=33/5

y=-33/5
