Explanation:

y = 4/x

substitute

x + 4/x = 5

multiply the whole thing by x to make life easier

x^2 +4 = 5x

X^2 -5x +4 = 0

(x-1)(x-4)=0

x-1=0 x =1

x-4 =0. x=4

so there are 2 solutions

x=1. y = 4

x =4. y =1
