(urgent please help!!!!)in computing the mean of 8 numbers, a student mistakenly used 17 instead of 25 as one of the numbers and obtained 20 as the mean. find the correct mean.

Answer: 21

Explanation:

The student's mean of the 8 numbers is 20; the total of the numbers will be

8 x 20 = 160

If we take out the 17 the total will be 160 - 17 = 143

If we then replace the 17 with 25 the total rises to 168.

168 divided by 8 = 21
