we use pythagorus theorem to find the missing length

a^2+b^2=c^

we substitute the lengths into a and b and we don't have c which is the missing length also called the hypotenuse

6^2+7^2=c^2

we work out 6^2 and 7^2 which is 36 and 49

this means that:

36+49=c^2

c^2= 85 because 36+49=85

so know we square root 85 because 85 is c squared (c^2) but we just want c (C is the missing length)

85 Square root = 9.22

now we add up all the lengths so

4+7+4+6+9.22=30.22

so the perimeter of the shape is 30.2 (rounded to 1 dp)
