The odds in favor of selecting tragedy or history is 0.692

To find the odd of selecting tragedy or history , we can use probability to find the odd. Probability is the likelihood of an event or occur.

Probability is expressed as;

probability = sample space /total outcome.

The total outcome is 39

The probability of selecting tragedy = 17/39

The probability of selecting histories = 10/39

Therefore;

Probability of selecting tragedy or history is

17/39 + 10/39

= 27/39

= 0.692

Therefore, the odds in favor of selecting tragedy or history is 0.692
