Birds of Identical Plumage Flock Together
Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a variety of birds. Among them were the vibrant parrots, the melodious nightingales, the swift sparrows, and the majestic eagles. Each bird species had its unique characteristics and beauty.
One day, a young sparrow named Sparry was fascinated by the parrots' vibrant colors and their ability to mimic human speech. He wished to be a part of their group, thinking that he could learn to be like them. He approached the parrots and expressed his desire to join their flock. The parrots, being kind-hearted, allowed him to stay with them.
Sparry tried his best to fit in. He attempted to mimic human speech like the parrots, but all he could manage were simple chirps. He even tried to eat the same fruits that the parrots did, but he found them too big and hard to digest. Despite his efforts, he felt out of place and couldn't keep up with the parrots' lifestyle.
Meanwhile, the sparrows noticed Sparry's absence. They missed their friend and his swift flight that often led them to new food sources. They decided to approach Sparry and asked him to return to their flock.
Sparry was hesitant at first, thinking he had failed. But when he returned to his flock, he realized how much he had missed the company of his fellow sparrows. He found joy in their shared swift flights, their common love for seeds, and their collective chirps at dawn and dusk. He realized that he belonged with the sparrows, not because he couldn't fit in with the parrots, but because he shared more in common with the sparrows.
This story illustrates the saying "birds of identical plumage flock together". It means that individuals of similar characteristics, interests, or backgrounds tend to stick together, just like Sparry found his comfort and happiness among the sparrows, his own kind.
