The two markings mean the sides are congruent. The triangle with two congruent sides is an isosceles triangle. According to base angle theorem (only applicable to isosceles triangles), the two base angles are equal.

The angle adjacent to x is 27.

The sum of all angles in a triangle is 180

We can create an equation using parts whole postulate (PWP.)

x + 27 + 27 + 90 = 180

x + 54 + 90 = 180

x + 144 = 180

x = 36
