What is the area of a rectangle if the length is (4x + 2) cm and a width of (5x – 3) cm

(4x + 2)(5x - 3)

Multiply:

4x(5x) = 20x^2
4x(-3) = -12x
2(5x) = 10x
2(-3) = -6

Combine Like Terms:

10x-12x = -2x

Answer:
20x^2 - 2x - 6
