Marci needs to rent a storage unit. She needs to determine the volume of the storage unit to decide if the storage unit is big enough to hold her things. If the storage unit is 8 ft high, what is the volume of the storage unit? And i multiplied 4x2=8x2=16x5=80

Answer:

Volume = 176ft^3

Explanation:

Given

Height = 8

See attachment for base dimension

Required

Determine the volume of the storage unit

From the attachment, we can split the base dimension into two rectangles.

CDEF and ABCG

And the dimensions are:

CDEF

EF = CD = BD - BC = 5 - 2 = 3

ED = FC = FG +AB = 4 + 2 =6

So, the area of CDEF is:

Area = EF * ED

Area = 3 * 6

Area = 18

ABCG

AB= GC = 2

AG = BC = 2

Area = AB * AG

Area = 2 * 2

Area = 4

So, the base area is:

Base\ Area = 18 + 4

Base\ Area = 22

The volume is then calculated as:

Volume = Base\ Area * Height

Volume = 22 * 8

Volume = 176
