Explanation:

Put the what given of y in equation 2 to equation of 1

So you get

(4)/(5) x + (2)/(5) x - 7 = - 4 \\ (6)/(5) x = 3 \\ x = (15)/(6 ) \\ x = (5)/(2)

Then put the value of x in second equation

You will get

y = - (2)/(5) * (5 )/(2) + 7 \\ \\ y = 6
