All religious imagery in the Soviet Union was destroyed, burned, and replaced with atheism and imagery that resembled atheism. Any people who believed in religion, such as Christianity, were targeted and harassed. Their religious property, like idols, were burned and confiscated. Atheism was taught in schools and was forced upon children.

Religion was never specifically outlawed, but it was obvious that any people who openly were religious or had religious imagery/property were going to have it confiscated and were going to be harassed.
