Answer:

  • y - 4 = - 2(x + 1)

Given

  • Points (-1, 4) and (3, - 4)

Find the slope

  • m = (- 4 - 4)/(3 - (-1)) = - 8/4 = - 2

Use one of the points and the point-slope form

  • y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)
  • y - 4 = - 2(x - (-1)) ⇒ y - 4 = - 2(x + 1)
