Rob drives 110 miles in 2 hours before taking a rest stop. After the rest stop, if he increases the average speed by 7 miles/hour compared to the average speed before the rest stop, how many miles will Rob drive in the next 2.5 hours?

Explanation:

he drove 110 miles in 2 hours before the rest stop.

so, his average speed was 110/2 miles in 2/2 hours,

55 miles per hour = 55mph

after the rest stop he increased the average speed by 7mph, so now he is driving with

55 + 7 = 62mph

when going 62mph for 2.5 hours, that means he drove

62×2.5 = 155 miles

during the next 2.5 hours.
