Answer:

9

Explanation:

So, we have 19 and 5/8 as our first fraction that we need to round. Let's start by ignoring the 19 and focusing on the fraction. We have 5/8 so let's imagine it as one pizza cut into 8 slices, there are 5 slices left which is still a lot so we would round up for this number, making the answer 20. Then if we go to the second number and do it the same way as the first, one pizza with 7 slices and 4 slices remain, we can round up again, therefore making the answer to the second fraction 11. Now all that's left to do is minus our two answers, making the answer 9.

I really hope this is right, though if I'm wrong I sincerely apologize. This is just the way my sister told me you round fractions, he's a freshman in high school and I'm in fifth grade. Again, I really hope this is right and I have the same question on my test right now so I can see if it really is correct. Thank you, and have a nice day! <3

HI THIS IS ME AFTER THE TEST AND YES I GOT A 100% SO THE ANSWER OF 9 IS CORRECT!!!! TY!

19 (5)/(8) - 10 (4)/(7) = 8 (51)/(56)

Explanation :

19 (5)/(8) - 10 (4)/(7)

= 9 (5)/(8) - (4)/(7)

= 9(35)/(56) - (40)/(56)

= 8 (56 + 35)/(56) - (40)/(56)

= 8 (91)/(56) - (40)/(56)

= 8 (51)/(56)
