How do you feel about Machiavelli's question, "Is it better to be loved or feared?" How can you connect this question and your opinion to Macbeth?

Answer:

In my opinion, I think you have to balance being loved and being feared.

Step-by-step explanation:

It's a tricky balance. Macbeth, for example, sought fear over love. But in the end, that didn't work out too well for him. His fear-inducing reign only led to isolation and downfall. So, it seems love might be the safer bet. That makes me question if love is equally as dangerous as fear. Since fear can cause such pain why can't love? It's a tricky balance.
