if i’m not wrong i think the mistake done was adding 3k instead of subtracting it because the sign should always be opposite.
for example:

19-2k=3k-1
-3k -3k
19-5k=-1
-19 -19
-5k=-20
k=4

well... i see many mistakes..

first it would have been easier to add 2k to the other side and then add +1 to the other side giving you

20 = 5k then you divide by 5 giving you k =4 :)
