Explanation:

on way up you travel 35 ft in 30 sec or 144 ft in 120 sec (2 min)

on way down you travel 304 ft in 120 sec (2 min)

the distance traveled for 5 minutes at rate from way 'up' is 360 feet

the distance traveled for 5 minutes at rate from way 'down' is 760 feet

difference is 400 feet
