Solve for x 3 x − 2 = 4 x + 5

Answer:

3x - 2 = 4x + 5

3x - 4x = 2 + 5 (move the numbers with the variable x to one side, and the normal numbers to the other side. Switch the signs of the numbers you move. 4x became -4x and -2 became 2.)

-x = 7 (simply add the numbers)

x = 7
