The gel is made by combining aragonese and the buffer and heating them in the microwave. It is put into a mould, and holes are made in it with the use of a "comb" so that DNA may be added. The comb is taken off after it has cooled. The buffer solution is then applied to the gel before it is placed in the gel electrophoresis box.
