50 because you make 20% into a decimal and multiply 250 and .20

Answer:

The discount is $50

The sale price is $200

Explanation:

x/250 = 20/100

Cross multiply

x × 100 = 250 × 20

100x = 5000

Divide both sides by 100 to isolate variable x

100x ÷ 100 = 5000 ÷ 100

x = 50

$50 is the discount price

Take the original value of the shoes and subtract the discount to find the sale price

250 - 50 = 200

$200 is the sale price
