The analysis of the graph of the sine function indicates that we get;

(i) π/6

(ii) 900

(iii) y = 1700

The steps by which the above values are found are as follows;

(i) The sine function can be presented as follows;

f(x) = p·sin(q·x) + r

The period is; (9 - 3) × 2 = 12

The period of a sine function is; Period = 2·π/q

Therefore; q = 2·π/Period

q = 2·π/12

q = π/6

(ii) The amplitude of the sound wave is; (2600 - 800)/2 = 900

(iii) The principal axis can be obtained by adding amplitude to the y-value of the trough of the graph

The y-value of the trough of the graph = 800

Therefore, the principal axis is; y = 800 + 900

The principal axis is; y = 1700, which is the axis equidistant from the peak and the trough of the graph
