Don’t know I got 15 at first then got it wrong

A researcher studied the relationship between the number of times a certain species of cricket will chirp in one minute and the temperature outside. Her data is expressed in the scatter plot and line of best fit below. Based on the line of best fit, what temperature would it most likely be outside if this same species of cricket were measured to chirp 120 times in one minute?

The temperature will be 63⁰F.

How the value of temperature was computed.

Let's find equation of the line Using two points on the line

Consider points (60,47) and (90,55)

Slope = change in y/change in x

m = 55-47/90-60

m = 8/30

= 4/15

Using the slope point form, the equation becomes

y - y1 = m(x-x1)

Where (x1,y1) = (60,47)

y-47 = 4/15(x-60)

15(y-47) = 4(x-60)

15y - 705 = 4x - 240

15y = 4x -240 +705

15y = 4x + 465

At time t = 120 minutes

15y = 4(120) + 465

15y = 480 + 465

15y = 945

y = 945/15

= 63

Therefore, the temperature will be 63⁰F.
