I have decided to create the first layer of my cake as a trapezoidal prism, but i don't know how to work out the measurements, if anyone knows how to calculate the slant height as well as the widths (a/b in the picture) for the trapezoidal prism please let me know! I just can't figure out any way to figure out the slant height (d/c in the picture).

Answer:

Explanation:

slant height will be calculated using pythagoreas theorem

see h in the trapezoidal prism diagram. there is a right angle triangle forming there.

so slant is equal to h squared + B squared

=> squareroot the answer of that and that is the slant
