x² = 4(x - 3)²

Method 1:

x² = 4(x² - 6x + 9)

x² = 4x² - 24x + 36

3x² - 24x + 36 = 0

x² - 8x + 12 = 0

(x - 2)(x - 6) = 0

x - 2 = 0 or x - 6 = 0

x = 2 or x = 6

Method 2:

x = ±2(x - 3)

x = -2(x - 3) or x = 2(x - 3)

x = -2x + 6 or x = 2x - 6

3x = 6 or x = 6

x = 2 or x = 6
