There are 189 Republican representatives and 222 Democratic representatives.

Let's denote the number of Republican representatives as R, and the number of Democratic representatives as D. According to the given information:

The total number of representatives is 411:

R+D=411.

There are 33 more Democrats than Republicans:

D=R+33.

Now, we can substitute the second equation into the first to solve for the values of R and D:

R+(R+33)=411

Combine like terms:

2R+33=411

Subtract 33 from both sides:

2R=378

Divide by 2:

R=189

Now that we know the number of Republican representatives (R=189), we can find the number of Democratic representatives (D) by using the second equation:

D=R+33

D=189+33

D=222

So, there are 189 Republican representatives and 222 Democratic representatives.
