Amy saved $3210. Mia saved twice as much as Amy. Amy saved 3 times as much as Ned. (a) How much did Ned save? (b) How much money must Mia give to Ned so that they each have the same amount of money? ​

(a) $1070

(b) $2675

Explanation:

(a)

Amy's savings= $3210 (Given in question)

Amy's savings= 3 times of Ned savings (Given)

=>Ned's savings = Amy's savings/3

= 3210/3 = $1070

(b)

Mia's savings= 2 times of Amy's savings (Given)

= 2 times 3210 = $6420

Ned's savings= $1070 (From part a)

=> Difference between the both = 6420-1070

= $5350

=> Money to be given = Difference/2 = 5350/2

= $2675

Money with Ned = 1070+2675 = $3745

Money with Mia = 6420-2675 = $3745
