Answer:

x - 3 is not a factor of p(x)

Explanation:

If (x - a) is a factor of f(x) then f(a) = 0

for (x - 3) to be a factor of p(x) , then p(3) = 0

substitute x = 3 into p(x) and evaluate

p(x) = -2
x^(4) + 4x³ - 2x + 6 , then

p(3) = - 2
(3)^(4) + 4(3)³ - 2(3) + 6

= - 2(81) + 4(27) - 6 + 6

= - 162 + 108 + 0

= - 54

Since p(3) ≠ 0, then x - 3 is not a factor pf p(x)
