Three friends go grocery shopping together, and each buys the same kind of oranges. LaMar buys 2 pounds (lb) and pays $7.00. Enrico buys 5 pounds and pays $17.50. Anna buys 3 pounds and pays $10.50.

The graph which represents the cost of orange is B.

The unit price for the price of oranges can be calculated as follows ;

  • Price / weight

LaMar ;

  • 7/2 = $3.50

Enrico ;

  • 17.50 / 5 = $3.50

Anna :

  • 10.50 / 5 = $3.50

The graph B has the ordered pair (1, 3.50) which means that 1 pound of orange is sold at $3.50. Hence, the Graph B is correct.
