Robin helped her mom set a banquet table for dinner. She noticed that the width of the table was a third of its length. If the width is 6 feet, write and solve an equation to determine its length. (PLS HELP AS FAST AS YOU CAN!)

(A) L over 3 equals 6

(B) 3L = 6; L = 2 feet

(C) 3 + L = 6; L = 3 feet

(D) L − 3 = 6; L = 9 feet

Answer: (A) L over 3 equals 6

This is the same as writing either L/3 = 6 or
(L)/(3) = 6 or
(1)/(3)L = 6

Solving for L gets you L = 18.
