Solve the equation 2x + 3y = 5 for x.

x=-3y + 2/5
x=-3/2y+5
X=(-3y +5)/2

to some for x means we need to transform this equation in a way that we end up with a form

or

so, again starting with

2x + 3y = 5 | subtracting 3y on both sides

2x + 3y - 3y = -3y + 5

2x = -3y + 5 | dividing both sides by 2

2x/2 = (-3y + 5)/2

x = (-3y + 5)/2
