The speeds at the intervals are

1) 5km/day

2) 2km/day

3)2km/day

4) 6km/day

5) The turtle starts with speed of 5km/day from 0 to day 2. It slows to 2km/day and continue at constant speed between day 3 and day 4. It then increases its speed between day 4 and day 6 to 6km/day.

How to determine the speed of the turtle

From the provided graph

Speed = distance covered/Time

The distance is in km and time in days, therefore speed will be expressed in km per day.

1) Between 0 and 2 days

Distance = 10km

Time = 2 days

Speed = 10/2

= 5km/day

2) Between 2days and 3days

Distance = 12-10

= 2km

Time = 1 day

Speed = 2/1

= 2km/day

3) Day 3 to day 4

The speed is constant

No Change in speed

Speed remains 2km/day

4) Day 4 to Day 6

Distance = 24 -12

= 12km

Time = 6-4 = 2 days

Speed = 12/2

= 6km/day

The turtle starts with speed of 5km/day from 0 to day 2. It slows to 2km/day and continue at constant speed between day 3 and day 4. It then increases its speed between day 4 and day 6 to 6km/day.
