• the diagonals are congruent (equal )

IK and HJ are the diagonals of the trapezoid , then

IK = HJ ( substitute values )

7u - 11 = 2u + 19 ( subtract 2u from both sides )

5u - 11 = 19 ( add 11 to both sides )

5u = 30 ( divide both sides by 5 )

u = 6
