y = 4x - 3

For a line to be parallel to another line they have to have the same slope.

So,

we can write the equation of the new line

'y = mx + c' as 'y = 4x + c'

we can then plug in the coordinates (1, 1) to find our 'c' value:

$y = 4x + c \\ (1) = 4(1) + c \\ 1 = 4 + c \\ c = 1 - 4\\ c = - 3$

So we can replace 'c' with '-3'

$y = 4x + ( - 3) \\ y = 4x - 3$
