The value of AX in the equilateral triangle described is 5cm

Equilateral triangles are a special type of triangle whose sides and angles are equal .

The axis of symmetry is a specific line that divides a two-dimensional figure into two halves that are mirror images of each other.

Since X is the intersection of the axis of symmetry , then it is the midpoint of the triangle's length ;

Let ;

  • AD = b
  • X = midpoint of AD

If DX = 5

Then;

AX + DX = 2(5)

AX + DX = 10

AX = 5 = 10

AX = 5

Hence, AX = 5 cm
