Answer:

Explanation:

4x^2+8x+36=0

Factor out the GCF: 4

1/4(4x^2+8x+36=0)

x^2+2x+9=0

Solve using the Quadratic formula.

a= 1

b= 2

c= 9

x = ( -b \pm √(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)

x = ( -2 \pm √(2^2 - 4(1)(9)))/(2(1))

x = ( -2 \pm √(4 - 36))/(2)

x = ( -2 \pm √(-32))/(2)

There are no real solutions because you cannot square root a negative number.

x = ( -2 \pm 4√(2)i)/(2)

x = -1+2√(2)i\\ x= -1-2√(2) i
