The correct value for x is 60.4⁰

What are complementary angles?

Complementary angles are two angles whose measures add up to 90 degrees. In other words, when you add the degree measures of complementary angles, the result is a right angle.

From the figure

Given that z and y are complementary

z + y = 90⁰

One the angles measures 29.6⁰

x + y + z + 29.6 = 180(sum of angles on a str. line)

x + (y + z) + 29.6 = 180

x + 90 + 29.6 = 180

x + 119.6 = 180

x = 180 - 119.6

x = 60.4⁰

The correct value for x is 60.4⁰
