Answer:

x = 55/2 or 27.5

Explanation:

7(2x-5)-3(4x-7)= 41

14x-35-12x+21 = 41

2x - 14 = 41

2x = 41 + 14

2x = 55

x = 55/2 or 27.5

Solution:

7(2x - 5) - 3(4x - 7) = 41 \\

  • Now, multiply 7 with (2x - 5) and 3 with (4x - 7).

= > 14x - 35 - 12x + 21 = 41 \\

  • Transpose -35 and 21 to the RHS.

= > 14x - 12x = 41 + 35 - 21 \\

  • Now, do the addition and subtraction.

2x = 55

  • Now, divide both sides by 2.

= > (2x)/(2) = (55)/(2) \\ = > x = 27.5

Answer:

x = 27.5
