What are the circuit elements?

Circuit Element Description Purpose

1. Wire- A skinny and flexible strand or rod made of metal. The wire's main purpose is to transport the electricity from place to place.
2. Battery -A working device that holds chemical energy and converts it to electrical energy to other things that will make it come to life or work electrically. A battery's purpose is to give electrical energy to other things that will make it "come to life" or work electrically.
3. Light Bulb- The round, glass part of an electrical light or lamp where light shines from. The light bulb's purpose is to shine light, show if an electric device is on, to direct traffic, for heat, and more.
4. Switch- Used to respond to outside forces to mechanically change an electrical signal (on & off). The purpose of a switch is to disconnect or connect the path of an electrical circuit.
5. Fuse- An electrical safety device that protects a circuit from an overload of electrical current. The purpose of a fuse is to eliminate possible dangers like excessive temperature and power surges to the electrical systems.
6. Resistor- An electrical device that limits or regulates the flow of electrical current in an electrical circuit. The main purpose of a resistor is to limit or regulate the flow of an electrical circuit.
