Three times an unknown number

= 3(n)

Added to

Two less than four times the same unknown number

= 4 - 2(n)

Total

= 3(n) + 4 - 2(n) = 15

= 3n + 4 - 2n = 15

Collect like terms

= 3n - 2n = 15 - 4
