Answer: j = 9

Explanation:

Slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

-1 = (3-(-5)) / (1-j)

-1 = (3+5) / (1-j)

-1 = 8 / (1-j)

Multiply both sides by 1 -j

= (1-j) = 8

= 1 - j = -8

= -j = -8 -1

j = 9
