The calculated length, in feet, of the gate is 10

How to determine the value of x

From the question, we have the following parameters that can be used in our computation:

Perimeter = 200 feet

Also, we have

Height = 30 ft

Length = 60 ft

Gate = x

The perimeter of the rectangular backyard is calculated using

P = 2 * (Length + Width)

So, we have

2 * (30 + 60 + x) = 200

This gives

90 + x = 100

So, we have

x = 10

Hence, the value of x is 10
